Spectral, an energy technology company that helps utilities, independent power producers and commercial real estate take control of their energy assets, to unlock value from flexibility and realize energy savings, today announces the appointment of Tom ten Hage as Chief Executive Officer. Founder Philip Gladek transitions to the role of Chief Growth Officer, taking responsibility for Spectral’s commercial strategy and product development.
The leadership change marks the start of a new chapter for Spectral. The company’s platform connects more than 3 GW of renewables, 500+ MWh of battery storage and 700,000 m² of commercial real estate optimized across Europe and is now focused on accelerating its growth further across the continent.
Tom brings more than 20 years of experience in the energy and utilities sector. He has led large-scale transformations at organizations including Essent and ENOWA (NEOM), where he built a 100% renewable energy utility from the ground up. His track record spans strategy and scaling commercial organizations across Europe and Saudi Arabia.

Philip, who founded Spectral in 2015, will focus on deepening relationships with key accounts and new customers, while steering the product team and roadmap. Under his leadership, Spectral grew from a startup into the Dutch market leader in smart energy solutions, with an established presence across six European markets.
